A Proud Moment for Keisen Judo Club and Rivertrace

At Rivertrace, we believe in supporting rising talent and celebrating the spirit of dedication and perseverance. That’s why we are proud to sponsor Keisen Judo Club, an organisation that nurtures young athletes and empowers them to achieve greatness. This month, we are thrilled to share the incredible success of Amy Watkin, who recently competed in her first-ever international tournament – the prestigious Matsumae Cup/Danish Open held in Vejle, Denmark.

A Bronze Medal Victory on the International Stage

In her international debut, Amy showcased remarkable skill and determination, earning a bronze medal in the U15 – 44kg category. Facing tough competition from across Europe, she fought her way to the podium, overcoming talented opponents from both Denmark and Norway. Her achievement not only highlights her commitment to the sport but also reflects the high standard of training and support provided by Keisen Judo Club.

Amy’s coach, James Draper, Development Engineer at Rivertrace also experienced their first time coaching at an international event, expressed immense pride in her performance:

“Amy fought hard for that medal. She faced strong competitors but never backed down. It was an incredible experience for both of us, and she did herself, Keisen Judo Club, and Great Britain proud!”

Going Beyond – A 5th Place Finish in the U18 Category

Not content with just one competition, Amy also entered the U18 category the day before, where she secured an impressive 5th place finish. Competing against older and more experienced athletes, she demonstrated maturity and courage beyond her years, proving she is a rising star in the world of judo.

The Importance of Sponsorship and Community Support

At Rivertrace, we understand that achievements like Amy’s are made possible through a combination of talent, hard work, and community support. Our sponsorship of Keisen Judo Club reflects our commitment to investing in the future and empowering young athletes to reach their full potential.
