We’re delighted to celebrate the recent success of James Draper, Development Engineer, who has made the whole club proud with his outstanding achievement on the judo mat.
Competing at the British Veterans Open in Walsall on 6th July 2025, James fought his way to victory, becoming the British Champion in the under 66kg category. He won an impressive 4 out of 4 fights throughout the tournament — a remarkable result and testament to his dedication and hard work at Keisen Judo Club.
Following his triumph, James is now considering taking his success to the world stage by entering the World Championships this October. We wish him every success as he plans his next big step!
The excitement didn’t stop there. Back at the club, we were honoured to host Paris Olympian and Team GB superstar, Lele Nairne. Lele delivered three outstanding masterclasses, sharing some of her top-level competition techniques and inspiring everyone on the mat. It was fantastic to see so many players, including new visitors, making the most of the opportunity to learn from one of the best.
Congratulations once again to James on becoming British Champion — we can’t wait to see what’s next!
