The companies IKM and Equinor, the former company as a produced water treatment system supplier and the latter company as the customer, worked with Rivertrace to introduce an Oil in Water Monitor to the IKM Slop Treatment Systems used to treat all drilling-related slop water on the Johan Sverdrup oil field rigs in addition to the treatment of all deck cleaning wash water and rainfall collected on deck to meet North Sea environmental permits which limit the discharge of oil in water to 30mg per litre.
By assessing the requirements of the large oil field offshore installations and the in situ IKM Xtract oil in water removal system, Rivertrace were able to provide an oil in water monitoring system that met all of Equinor’s technical requirements to solve the challenge of ensuring continued oil in water compliance with international and regional regulatory restrictions.
